Your Leisure Time Programme for an Exciting Winter Holiday in the Bavarian Forest

Each Sunday there is an info-evening at the Hotel Lindenwirt during which all the winter leisure time offerings of “Berghex’n Tours” are presented. If you decide to participate in a programme, we will gladly take care of the organisation and booking.

 

Winter Week Programme:

Monday, Thursday
Afternoon snowshoe hiking tour around the Arber region or to a rustic lodge
Comfortable, guided snowshoe tour through the snowy winter forest (suitable also for beginners). Guided tour includes transfer, snowshoes, poles, a shot of schnaps and a snack or lunch break. 1.5 hours walking time.
Pickup in front of the hotel: 12.50 p.m.
Return: around 4 p.m.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Evening snowshoe hiking tour
Guided snowshoe hiking tour with headlamps to the rustic Scharebenhütte. Tour includes transfer, snowshoes, headlamps, a shot of schnaps and live music. Suitable also for beginners.
Pickup: 7.40 p.m., price: 18 €
Evening transfer to the lodge only, including pickup: 8.55 p.m., price 12 € 

Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday on request
Tobogganing on the 3.5 km long, natural toboggan run
Fun for grown-ups as well as kids on one of Germany’s longest natural toboggan runs (3.5 km); including toboggan, transfer, a shot of schnaps, two descents and a lunch break at a mountain lodge.
Pickup in front of the hotel: 11.50 a.m. or 1.30 p.m.

Tuesday, Friday
Extra tour to Passau, the “Three Rivers City” (only in the event of lack of snow)
Bus tour through the picturesque holiday scenery of Lower Bavaria, down to Passau; a short city tour, including the Feste Oberhaus (panorama point), informative guided “insider” city tour, boat cruise (1 hour, 3 rivers)
Pickup in front of the hotel: 8.50 a.m.
Return: around 5 p.m.

Wednesday
Sunrise snowshoe hiking tour to the Arber
Unique hiking tour to see the sunrise from the Großer Arber; including a picknick on the peak. After sunrise, we will casually walk back to the hotel, where an opulent breakfast awaits you.
Pickup in front of the hotel: 8.50 a.m.
Return: around 5 p.m.

Wednesday, Saturday
Excursion “Bavarian Forest–Bohemian Forest Safari”
A tour across the Zellertal with a visit to the little glass foundry in the glass village Weinfurtner and the “Bärwurzerei” Drechsler – a unique liquor distillery. Afterwards, the tour continues on through snowy winter scenery across the border and through the Sumava national park to the large, reservoir Nyrsko lake with a lunch break at a rustic hunter’s inn. The return route traverses the Spiciak mountain pass, past the Asia markets (shopping opportunity) and via Eisenstein back to the hotel. Eventful bus tour with tour guide, coffee and cake.

Return: 4 p.m.

Thursday
Nocturnal tobogganing with headlamps from the Arber summit down to Bodenmais in the valley below
Ascent with the toboggan via the ski run to the summit; take a break at the Arber mountain lodge at 1400 m altitude (when open). Afterward, the toboggan run follows the ski touring route down to the valley. Tobogganing fun, including 1.5 kilometres of pulling and walking passages. Tour includes toboggan, transfer, a shot of schnaps and headlamps.
Pickup in front of the hotel: 3.40 p.m.

Saturday
